But what happened between the moment that movie was
made… and the moment that YouTube guy could do

what a face is. You used to have Photoshop, you had to edit
an image pixel by pixel .
But now the computer itself knows what a face is and where your mouth is.
And therefore this is possible. Here look, Snapchat.

The computer KNOWS where my mouth is. I didn't have to click

but the technology behind it is impressive.
And that technique is called Deep learning. That is a form of Artificial
Intelligence. The computer got thousands of pictures
of faces until it knew what a face was.
It also has to do with deep learning, right?
It has to do with machine learning, where you actually
train a neural network. It means that you give a computer
a whole set of data... so all faces, for example.
And you hit him all the time when he says 'this in a face',
but it's not a face. And if it IS a face,

danger: that we can no longer believe things that are real.
Because exactly what Amber warned about:
nobody sees the difference. And there is software
to detect deepfakes... but it will always follow the
deepfakes, and therefore never be able to extract everything.
And then you say: shouldn't we just ban all those deepfakes?
No, that's not possible, because it already exists...
and applications are now also being devised to help people.

deceased are digitally brought to life by a voice actor... with
whom the next of kin can then talk.
