The president is commander-in-chief of the military.
Who is the commander-in-chief of the military? The president. The president
has a vice president. The name of the vice president now is Kamala Harris.

If the president dies the vice president becomes president.
If the president can no longer serve the vice president becomes president.
If the president can no longer serve who becomes president?
The vice president. The president
has a cabinet. The cabinet is a group of people who advise the president.
The president appoints (chooses) the cabinet members and the senate votes to confirm (approve) them.
What does the president's cabinet do? It advises the president.
Each member of the president's cabinet is the leader of a department. The department leaders are called secretaries.
Secretary of Agriculture. Secretary of Transportation. Secretary of State. Secretary of Education.
Here are four cabinet-level positions (jobs in the cabinet).
The secretary of transportation directs the department of transportation. The secretary of agriculture directs the department of agriculture.
The secretary of education directs the department of education. The secretary of state directs the department of state.
The secretary of state is in charge of important communications with leaders of other countries.
