- Raise your hand if at one point in the last year,
you have felt like the worst mom in the world.
Yup, yeah.
Well, you are not alone.
And sometimes we just have to laugh at this stuff.
And so here are my favorite viral mom fails.
Boom, see that?
First, we have Melissa from Michigan,
who took her kids sledding,
and nearly lost them for good, take a look.
- [Kid] Go.
- Ooh! - That's better.
(kid screams)
- Oh no. - No!
- [Woman] Oh no.
(woman laughs) - Mommy!
- Oh my gosh (laughs) I've actually been in that moment.
I was sledding, and you're like, it's a lot faster.
And my kid was like (screams).
Like I was like, it's fine.
We have Melissa on the line.
So Melissa, they were okay, right?
They ended up all right.
- Yes, they were okay.
As you could see, I was just trying to give them
a bit of fun during such a dark time.
And when I like pushed them off, I was like,
good job, you're doing a great job.
And then they like turned,
and started going down the driveway.
And I was like, run, go and get them.
But yeah, I just do need to vindicate myself.
It's not a frozen river or the street.
It is my in-law's very long driveway.
So we've been staying there for the last five months.
'Cause we had a big sewage problem at our house.
- I love that you have to like,
one, defend yourself at the end.
Because people do shame you.
Like whatever you do, don't give your kid Nutella.
You will get shamed so hard.
I was like, geez, it's like I gave him arsenic or something.
It's like...
Anyway, well, our next mom fail is from Darcy in Tulsa.
Darcy was trying to get her daughter to take her medicine,
when she had a huge revelation, check it out.
- My daughter is four years old
and I just gave her her medicine.
She doesn't like the way it tastes.
So I always tell her,
take it like a shot, you know, quickly.
And she always just drinks, it really slow.
And I'm always like, are you doing?
Like what is going...
I just caught myself and realized, she don't know what...
She four years old, she ain't know
what take it like a shot means, she's four!
(audience claps)
- The best outcome to that would have been
if she was like, oh, I got you.
If she was like...
She like looked at you, she's like, got you, boo, boom.
I just pictured your four year old doing that.
So Darcy, you had another revelation, though,
after you posted this video, can you tell us what that was?
- Yes, so I realized that telling my four year old
to take it like a shot is a major mom fail.
But I decided to post it on social media
because I think it's so important
to not only put the good mom stuff, but the mom fails.
And I'm so glad I did because I had a lot of moms
reach out and say that they have also said that.
Some moms even said they show their kids
how to take it like a shot.
And I just thought it was really cool.
And it made me feel a lot better about my mom fail.
- Okay, the best part of this story
is that you are clinically trained to be a therapist.
- Yeah, right, yeah.
- That's amazing.
You're gonna be able to help her out,
when she has issues later, like that's awesome.
- Thank you, yeah, she's gonna need it, so.
- That's amazing, they all will.
I always tell my children that.
I'm like, well, you're gonna need something
to talk about in therapy, you're welcome.
Well, thank you so much, Darcy, that's hilarious.
And I've actually done that with my kid,
and I've never even noticed it until this moment.
But we have time for one more mom fail.
Nicole from central Illinois, discovered not once,
but twice during the pandemic, that she's no baker.
First with brownies, here's how they turned out.
They're more like bricks than brownies.
And she's not one to give up, Nicole.
So at Christmas time, she tried again to make cookies.
So take a look, these turned out great.
(women laugh)
- [Nicole] Is it good?
(audience laughs)
- Oh my god, he is like, girl.
He's looking at you like, what?
At least those were semi-edible.
Bu he was still going in for him.
Nicole is actually in our audience.
That shows you just how addictive sugar is, by the way.
Your kids will even eat bricks that taste like sugar.
So Nicole, you have a pretty good attitude
about this though, right?
- Yes Kelly, so during this pandemic, I was like,
I'm gonna learn how to cook, how to bake,
make all the Instagram-worthy desserts.
And unfortunately, as you saw, I epically failed.
But we had so many laughs, so much fun
using my 10 commandments brownies as a photo prop.
And we made some great memories, just laughing at myself.
- Oh my god, 'cause they're written on stone. (laughs)
